The story began in the Private Office New York, an invitation-only space dedicated to Bespoke commissions. For the clients, who describe themselves as both lifelong enthusiasts and animal lovers, the vision was clear: a joyful tribute that would forever remind them of their loyal companion. What followed was a collaboration between the commissioning couple and the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective that yielded a creation unlike any other, a playful yet timeless embodiment of companionship, immortalised in the form of an electric super coupé.

Spectre Bailey’s individuality begins with its bespoke paintwork, created at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. The car’s iridescent two-tone finish combines Crystal Fusion with Beautiful Bailey, a colour inspired directly by the soft hue of Bailey’s ear. This exclusive shade captures both warmth and subtlety, gleaming differently depending on the play of light. The dynamic result is an exterior that feels alive, ever-changing, like the joyful spirit that inspired it. The Rose Gold Spirit of Ecstasy crowns the bonnet, a striking symbol of presence and elegance. Yet the most personal detail rests on the shoulder line: a hand-painted Coachline, within which artisans recreated Bailey’s paw print with meticulous precision. Rendered in the same Rose Gold, this motif is both discreet and deeply moving, an intimate signature that transforms the Spectre into a rolling portrait of devotion.

Inside, Spectre Bailey offers a cabin as emotive as it is opulent. The Moccasin and Crème Light leather upholstery, accented by tones of Dark Spice and Casden Tan, evokes the warmth of Bailey’s fur. Royal Walnut veneer forms the foundation for a suite of wood surfaces finished in high gloss, providing a natural canvas for the commission’s centrepiece: an extraordinary marquetry portrait of Bailey himself. Positioned on the rear waterfall between the seats, this artwork comprises more than 180 individual veneer pieces, painstakingly selected and shaped over four months of artisanal dedication. To capture the lifelike depth of Bailey’s coat, artisans employed nine distinct veneers, yielding 22 natural shades. Even the dog’s tongue required ingenuity, crafted from four veneers never before used by Rolls-Royce, Purple Heart, Tulipwood, Louro Faia, and Pear, selected for their subtle gradations of colour. The result is a portrait of remarkable warmth, alive with texture, tone, and quiet realism. Additional touches enrich the narrative. On the passenger side of the fascia, a smaller marquetry motif immortalises Bailey’s paw print once again, creating a sense of continuity with the exterior Coachline. When the doors open, engraved Rose Gold treadplates reveal the same motif, offering a moment of quiet delight. Together, these flourishes transform the cabin into an intimate sanctuary, suffused with sentiment and artistry.
