Aston Martin Unveils Exclusive Volante 60th Anniversary Editions

Published 10 September 2025

A legacy of open-top excellence

For six decades, the Volante name has been inseparable from the idea of pure, roof-down exhilaration in an Aston Martin. First introduced in 1965 with the rare Short Chassis Volante, of which only 37 examples were produced, the badge has since adorned some of the most celebrated convertibles in the marque’s history. To commemorate this landmark anniversary, Aston Martin’s bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, has unveiled two special creations: the Vanquish Volante and the DB12 Volante, each strictly limited to 60 units. These 60th Anniversary Editions not only pay tribute to heritage, but also reaffirm Aston Martin’s mastery of performance, design, and craftsmanship in the open-top grand tourer segment.

Power and performance without compromise

At the summit of the range, the Vanquish Volante represents the pinnacle of raw, uncompromising performance. Beneath its sculpted bonnet lies a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12, hand-built to deliver 835 PS and 1000 Nm of torque. These figures translate into staggering performance: 0–60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 214 mph, making it the most powerful and fastest convertible production Aston Martin ever conceived. Complementing it is the DB12 Volante, powered by a hand-crafted 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 680 PS and 800 Nm of torque. With a sprint to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and a 202 mph maximum speed, the DB12 Volante offers a more versatile interpretation of the Volante spirit: exhilarating yet refined, equally suited to long-distance touring as it is to spirited drives on winding roads. Both models are equipped with lightweight K-fold roofs that combine swift operation with elegant packaging, opening in just 14 seconds and closing in 16, even at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Design artistry by Q

The 60th Anniversary Editions stand apart through a bespoke specification crafted by Q by Aston Martin. Finished in Q Pentland Green with a complementary Westminster Green roof, the exterior exudes subtle confidence, while anodised bronze accents add a sense of exclusivity. The grille, reimagined in anodised bronze, becomes both a visual signature and an aerodynamic element, channeling airflow with precision. Satin bronze 21-inch Q wheels with diamond-turned edges underline the balance of power and sophistication, while black brake calipers reinforce their performance pedigree. The bronze motif continues with the iconic Aston Martin side strake, precision-milled from solid aluminium and engineered to reduce lift at high speeds, merging beauty with functionality. An enamelled Q by Aston Martin badge beneath the strake signals the bespoke nature of these editions, unmistakable hallmarks of rarity and craftsmanship. Inside, the atmosphere is one of unparalleled luxury. A tri-tone interior of Centenary Saddle Tan, Ivory, and Woven leathers is harmoniously paired with Dark Walnut Open Pore veneers, bronze accents, and bespoke 60th Anniversary embroidery. Every detail, from etched and infilled seatbacks to hand-finished touchpoints, speaks of artistry at its highest level.

Exclusivity and bespoke commissioning

As Jolyon Nash, Aston Martin’s Chief Commercial Officer, noted, “Volante is one of Aston Martin’s most evocative names, representing six decades of the ultimate open-top driving experience.” The 60th Anniversary Editions embody this legacy while offering clients the opportunity to go further through Q by Aston Martin’s bespoke commissioning service. From subtle enhancements to fully tailored specifications, no request is too ambitious for the marque’s in-house artisans, who combine advanced techniques with timeless craftsmanship. Each of the 120 cars, 60 Vanquish Volante and 60 DB12 Volante, represents not just a rare acquisition, but a deeply personal expression of Aston Martin ownership. Deliveries will begin in the final quarter of 2025, ensuring that the anniversary is celebrated in fitting style: with the roar of V12 and V8 power, the elegance of bespoke design, and the timeless allure of the Volante name.
